A signet ring - the galley way
The detail in 80s Men’s cuff links is what I kept coming back to when getting distracted and thinking of an engagement ring concept. I knew a signet ring for me might be too masculine for my band but I wanted to keep the idea alive in some way. I came across a girl wearing her grandfathers ring and asked to take a photo(I take photos of peoples hands often when I can tell it’s a relic/sparks some kind of emotion) Alas that is where we began - antique signet rings have always caught my eye so making one felt like a fun project. Family crests and initials usually are found on this shape but it felt like the perfect chance to engrave something dainty and new. The heart at the end of strings of nature has what I think is the perfect daily reminder keep your head up, appreciate fresh air, and fill your day with love (how I interpret my design) excited to hear what this engraving means to you!
